My design process starts by understanding the problem that needs to be solved. To build my foundation, I'll meet with stakeholders, review the product vision, and learn the goals of the business. I make it priority to absorb as much information as possible whether the product is brand new or if i'm joining an existing team that holds the secrets behind their decisions.

From my experience, the best ideas are collaborative. In this phase, I work with the team to explore ideas that I may have never gotten on my own. Dependant on the task, my goal is to construct everything from personas, lo-fi sketches, user journeys & wireframes. I believe every team member has a voice and listening to their perspective results in a better product.

I create design systems that elevates our teams output and keeps us all on the same page. Using Figma, I take all of the previous research and documentation to create polished click through prototypes. This is where I work closely with engineers to ensure what we are building is not only feasible but gives them something to be excited for at pass off.

Testing with real users has humbled me over the years. I feared harsh feedback and became discouraged from missing the mark. These days, i've separated myself from the work by pivoting my mindset to be more of an investigator than a designer. Why did our design perform low? How might we iterate? These are the questions that fuel my motivation.
